Living brief

A scheduled, categorised digest of what needs you — in-app or to Slack/Telegram.

The living brief is a regularly generated digest of what happened and what needs your attention, grouped into categories with counts and summaries. Receive it inside Aiemaily or push it to Slack or Telegram on your own schedule.

What the brief contains

Each brief is split into two halves: what happened (a summary of notable incoming mail since the last brief) and what needs you (threads that require your action, reply, or decision). Both halves are grouped into categories — for example, Finance, Legal, Engineering, Customer, or any custom category you define.

Each category shows a count of items and a one-line summary for each, so you can triage at a glance without opening individual threads.

Delivery channels

The brief appears as a pinned card at the top of your inbox view, refreshed on your chosen schedule. Tap any item in the brief to jump straight to the relevant thread.

Schedule options

Quiet hours suppress delivery. Set a quiet window (e.g. 22:00–07:00) and the brief queues until the window ends.

Customisation

  • Detail level: “Headlines” (one line per item) or “Full” (short paragraph per item).
  • VIP-only mode: include only threads from contacts you’ve flagged as VIPs.
  • Needs-action-only mode: omit the “what happened” section and show only actionable items.
  • Custom categories: define your own category names and the keywords or contact groups that map to them.
  • Quiet hours: set a time window during which no brief is delivered.

Start with headlines

The “Headlines” detail level is the fastest to read. Switch to “Full” for end-of-day reviews when you have more time.

Actions from the brief

Each item in the brief supports quick actions inline: Archive, Snooze, Reply (opens Copilot draft), or Mark done. You don’t need to open the full thread for simple disposals.

Copilot approval required for sends

Tapping “Reply” from the brief opens a Copilot draft for your review. No email is sent without your explicit approval.
