Snooze, archive & star
The core triage gestures — defer, file, and flag — with AI-suggested times.
Three gestures handle 90% of inbox triage: snooze to defer, archive to file, star to flag — all available from the thread list without opening a message.
Snooze
Snoozing a thread removes it from your inbox until the chosen time, at which point it reappears at the top of the inbox as if it just arrived. You can snooze to a specific date and time, or choose one of the AI-suggested times.
AI-suggested times are based on the message content: a meeting request might suggest the morning before the meeting; a bill might suggest a few days before the due date. You are always shown the suggestions before committing — you are never snoozed without confirming.
- 1
Hover or swipe the thread to reveal triage actions
The snooze (clock) icon appears alongside archive and star.
- 2
Click the snooze icon
A picker appears with AI-suggested times and a “Choose date & time” option.
- 3
Select a time and confirm
The thread disappears from the inbox. A “Snoozed” counter in the sidebar shows how many threads are pending.

Archive
Archiving a thread removes it from your inbox without deleting it. The message is preserved on the server in the All Mail or Archive folder (depending on the provider) and is fully searchable.
There is no undo timer — archive is immediate. To find an archived thread, search for it or browse the All Mail folder in the sidebar.
Archive vs. trash
Star
Starring a thread marks it as flagged: a star icon appears on the thread row and the thread is added to the Starred sidebar view. Stars are persistent — a starred thread stays starred until you unstar it, across all devices.
Stars are searchable with is:starred. You can also filter the inbox to show only starred threads using the filter bar above the message list.
